Ammo Quality Grades

AMMUNITION GRADE LEVELS

How much does the quality of ammunition matter to your overall shooting experience?

The answer: It depends.

It depends on what you are using it for and how finicky your gun is. If you are shooting a com-bloc AK at ripe in-season watermelons, you can pretty much feed it anything you have sitting around, but on the other hand, if you are loading up your personal carry gun for self defense you want ammo that not only feeds and extracts well but that is also accurate and performs the way it is supposed to (expands, tumbles, etc.).

In general, most of your shooting needs will fall somewhere in between which is why we offer our subscribers the ability to select from a variety of ammo quality grades when they sign up for a caliber. Each grade is composed of roughly the same quality ammunition so you know what you are getting based on how it will be used.

SELF DEFENSE OR HUNTING

Self defense (handgun) or hunting (rifle) ammunition is built for a specific role. It is usually premium ammunition in all respects and includes a projectile designed to expand rapidly to cause maximum damage.
